2013 Carver Garden Tour

Self-directed driving/walking tour of 10 distinctive gardens in Carver, MN, some of which are in the historic district.  A brochure/map will be available to identify, describe and provide driving directions to the gardens.

Admission: $10.00, including brochure/map, Carver Walking Tour booklet, and your "ticket" to the gardens, are available for purchase in advance or on the day of the tour at Carver Country Flowers & Gifts, 109 3rd St E, Carver, MN  55315.

2013 Wine Tasting in the Garden

Enjoy a relaxing wine-tasting in the gardens of Jim & Joanne Weygand at 209 Carver Creek Place in Carver Bluffs.  Wine will be provided by Crofut Winery in Jordan.

Admission: Tickets are $5.00 and are available in advanceat Carver Country Flowers & Gifts, 109 3rd St E, Carver, MN  55315; or on site on the day of the wine-tasting. 

Your "ticket" is a stamp card, allowing you samplings of four wines of your choice; you may choose four different wines or take four samplings of the same wine.  You will receive a stamp for each tasting.  When your card contains four stamps, your wine tasting is complete.  If you'd like to sample more wines, you will need to purchase an additional card.  Light appetizers will be available at no additional charge.

History of the City of Carver

John von Walter holds a lifelong interest in history and family history.  He is a longtime member and former chair of the Carver Heritage Preservation Commission and current president of the nonprofit Carver-On-The-Minnesota, Inc.  He is assistant editor, columnist, and major article contributor for the Tidningen, a publication of the Swedish Genealogical Society of Minnesota under the umbrella of the Minnesota Genealogical Society.  He has compiled one of America's longest genealogical charts and is author of family history books and biographies in Swedish and in English, as well as being author of The Sheriffs of Carver County and The Carver Historic District.  

John will present an overview of the history of the town of Carver, including some of its families and individuals.  Funded by Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Annual Treasure Trek

The Annual Treasure Trek is a weekend excursion along Hwy 212 from Glencoe to Chaska.  You'll find "treasures" at occasional sales, thrift shops, garage sales, cafes, antique shops, flea markets and more (including Carver Country Flowers & Gifts).  It will take you all three days just to see it all!
